In the past, food pantries offered clients a pre-packed bag of canned or dry shelf goods. But that is changing, thanks to the leadership of the Northern Illinois Food Bank, and the generosity of the partner grocery stores in Will County. Warren-Sharpe’s Food Pantry is 100% Client Choice! That means that clients who visit our pantry “shop” for their food selections, and choose only what they will use. On average, a client leaves the pantry with enough groceries to feed a family of four for seven days.

On any given day, there could be fresh dairy, deli selections, frozen meat and fresh produce, as well as canned goods and dry shelf products. Our Food Pantry is stocked by the Northern Illinois Food Bank; Walmart-Shorewood; Fresh Thyme Market Joliet; Manhattan Friendship Garden; and food drives by civic groups and churches around the area. Sometimes, there are even fresh-picked veggies from Green Sprout Urban Farm.

Who runs the Food Pantry?

Volunteers! Led by our Food Pantry Manager, high school students, parents and grandparents, community service workers -- we all work together to provide food to 600+ households every month.

If you have a youth group or service organization, and you’d like to help distribute food, contact us to set up a Volunteer Day.

If you need food, you are welcome to visit our Food Pantry once per month. Please bring your ID or some other document showing your address in Will County. Please bring your own bags or boxes to pack up your food.
